Since the founding of MAM in 1951, the construction and support of masajid has been central to its mission. A mosque is not merely a place of prayer — it is the heartbeat of a Muslim community, a center for education, counselling, and community gatherings.
Under the leadership of Sheikh Twaibu Hussein Mwarabu (1972–1994), MAM established some of its most important institutions: the Blantyre Islamic Mission, Chiwaula Islamic Centre, Karonga Islamic Centre, and Chikwawa Islamic Centre.
Today, MAM continues to construct mosques in underserved areas. The most recent project (2024) saw a new masjid officially opened in the area of Senior Chief Chiwalo in Machinga district, as the first phase of a planned Islamic complex.
