The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) is proud to confirm that Kalambo Secondary School in Traditional Authority Kasumbu, Kasungu District, built by MAM with generous funding from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has been fully operational for four years and continues to serve hundreds of students in the Central Region.
The school's construction represents a significant achievement of MAM's long-standing partnership with UAE development partners — and stands as evidence of the tangible impact that international Islamic solidarity can deliver for Malawian communities. Both MAM and school authorities have confirmed the institution was constructed entirely through MAM's donor coordination efforts, independent of government funding.
The school offers secondary education to students who previously had to travel long distances to access learning. Since opening, it has dramatically increased secondary school enrollment in the area and has helped retain girls in education who may otherwise have dropped out due to distance from school.
MAM National Chairman Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad reiterated the association's commitment to education infrastructure: "Every school we build is an investment in the future of Malawi. Our children deserve quality facilities and qualified teachers — and MAM will continue to work with our Gulf partners to deliver on that promise."
MAM currently operates and supports multiple secondary schools across Malawi, including Zomba Islamic High School, the Blantyre Islamic Mission secondary school, and Lilongwe Islamic Secondary School, in addition to dozens of community day secondary schools constructed in partnership with international donors.
